One Museum Park, located in th Near South Side community area of Chicago, is a 62-story skyscraper designed by Chicago-based architecture firm Pappageorge Haymes, Ltd. Currently it is the tallest building in the Central Station development, the tallest building on the south side of Chicago and the tallest in Chicago south of Van Buren Street.

Museum Park is a complex of multiple residential towers within the development called the Central Station, at the southern edge of Grant Park, across Lake Shore Drive from Chicago’s Museum Campus. Construction of One Museum Park was followed by the 54-story The Grant (formerly One Museum Park West), directly to the west at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Indiana Avenue.

Admired for its design, One Museum Park East is a familiar landmark in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. Another great thing about it is that the building is designed so that every home has a spectacular view.

According to Midwest Construction magazine, because there were no buildings of similar hight in the area when it was built, its location near the lake front proved challenging during construction with winds blowing through the unfinished tower clocked at up to 99 miles an hour.

The shape, which reminds one of a ship docked at the lakefront, pays tribute to the relationship the skyline has with the lake. The summit is topped with an architectural crown, which doubles as a curving screen meant to hide mechanicals atop of the building.
